The story of Cabiate goes back to the year 745, when the small town was identified in a document with the name of Vico Capiete.Originally the town developed around the structure of a castle that was built by the river Terrò. The first official news about Giussano, border land between the province of Milan and Como in Roman times crossed by an important road that connected the two cities, bring us back to the domination of the Franks. The town is in fact mentioned in a deed of exchange dated 789. In the ninth century in Giussano a noble and wealthy family perhaps of Longobard origin used to live in this town,they took their family name from the place of residence: the family "by Giussano" whose most famous descendant is the legendary Alberto, captain of the “Death Company” and hero of the Battle of Legnano (May 29th 1176) fought between the towns of Lombardy and the Emperor Frederico Barbarossa.

Verano Brianza is a town of Roman origin, confirming the findings of Gallo-Roman tombs. Even the name is traced back to ancient Rome, and specifically the name of Marco Antonio Vero. In later times they changed it into Veri, Verius, Verianus, until 1928 when, by Royal Decree, the country assumed its present name to distinguish it from the homonymous town in the province of Bolzano. The manufacturing activity, typical veranese began in the year 700 with the development of the breeding of silkworms, thanks to which the area soon became the largest supplier for the export of silk worked. Parallel to these activities, develop along the Lambro mills, exploited for industrial production and processing of wool, bleaching, dyeing and fulling. A leading figure in Verano Brianza is definitely Paolo Nespoli, Astronaut for the Space Shuttle Discovery in 2007 as a mission specialist and then returned to the International Space Station on December 15th, 2010 as a flight engineer.

In the municipal area there are findings from the Neolithic age, particularly in the valley of Brovada, where there were some boulders excavated in a way colled "cups". Not many, but significant, even the Roman remains, especially in Agliate, back then more important then Carate, thanks to the bridge that allowed the crossing of the River Lambro. In 1880 the farm Peschiera, (near Realdino), was found a burial chamber containing a sarcophagus, still visible on site. The IX-X century was the foundation of the basilica of Agliate, thanks to the willing of the archbishop of Milan Ansperto da Biassono.The church, dedicated to Saints Peter and Paul, became the church's baptismal of Agliate, with under its control more then 21 other churches. In the industrial sector lots of factories specialized in the construction of molds and plastic injection molding but very flourishing is the segment of handicrafts made from more then 596 activities.
